Literature Works on the Silver Screen

I want to mention about one of the most discussed topics in cinema world. Adopting the novels into the films. Nearly, everybody has something to say about this adoptations. In my opinion it is both good and bad idea. It is good because it gives us the chance to see our favourite ones on the silver screen. By seeing them as films, we can get different tastes which we can't catch while reading. It is also big opportunity for people who don't like reading. Thus, they can take an advantage of being aware of many beautiful literature works. And also we can regard these adoptations as a way for unknown novels to be heard. We become familiar with them in a very short time, although we haven't even heard about them before. On the other hand, I see these adoptations as limitation to our imagination. I mean, while reading one dialogue from book, we can create many images in our mind. We dont confine ourselves to only one description. The images we create according to the what author described vary person to person. But when we see it as film, we are only bound to see how it was imagined in the director's mind. Seeing it in the director's perspective is a big contrast to the subjective characteristic of a literature work. Another problem of adaptations is the poor quality of them. Sometimes just to attract the public attention, many scenarist aren't faithful to the original work. Consequently, only those ones which reflect the real value of work and which give little chance to imagination can be regarded as good adoptations.
